This year marks the 20th anniversary of China's first successful manned space flight.

For many years, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) has been involved in the research and development of hundreds of technology achievements pertaining to the Shenzhou, Tiangong, Tianhe, and Tianzhou series, providing robust technological support for the construction of the Chinese Space Station.

The Long March 5B rocket, in conjunction with the Tianhe core module, the Wentian and Mengtian science lab modules, has all benefited from the technical prowess of HIT.

Key technologies developed by the university range from: the aerodynamic design of the booster stage of a 120-ton liquid oxygen kerosene engine, advanced-level robotic automation welding equipment that is on par with international standards, the first-ever usage of high-speed, heavy-load, low-temperature self-lubricating ceramic bearings on the liquid hydrogen turbine pump in China, to overall rocket coating and logo design.

These contributions echo the university's commitment to innovation and technological advancement. They have not only benefited the aerospace industry but have also strengthened China's engineering capabilities in the field.
