The 2023 International Islands Tourism Conference will be held in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province from Oct 12 to 14.

The conference, entitled "New Silk Road, New Momentum, New Opportunities," aims to promote exchange and trade among the entire industrial chain for the development of marine and island tourism.

It seeks to establish an IP symbol for the international island tourism industry, lead breakthroughs in cutting-edge topics and policies, and attract key domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in projects.

Against the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative, this conference will delve into the development models of 36 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) worldwide and focus on the close relationship between the ocean economy and sustainable development.

By proposing forward-looking topics, it will explore the interconnectivity and interaction among various subjects such as China's modern marine strategy, cultural tourism, common prosperity, and high-quality development in the new era.

The conference will actively incubate emerging industries such as high-end cultural and tourism complexes, water-based recreational sports, camping equipment, and digital cultural tourism to meet market demand and promote industrial upgrading.

It will further lead the development of future island tourism destinations, promote sustainable development in the marine tourism industry, enhance the global competitiveness of the island tourism industry, and boost the international market presence of more high-quality island cultural and tourism products.
