On the cusp of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, has redecorated some of its public venues and designed new travel routes to create a more joyful and festive atmosphere.

In recent days, flower beds have been set up and national flags have been hung on major streets, parks, museums and tourist attractions across the city.

The Taiyuan bureau of culture and tourism has launched three themed tourist routes to guide people as they explore the city.

These routes are around the themes of poetry, music, and moon-gazing. Destinations include the Fenhe River, Yanqiu Garden, Jueshan Mountain, Jinci Temple, Taishan Mountain, Shanxi Merchant Museum, and Bell Tower Street, allowing visitors to savor the picturesque scenery, history, and legendary stories of the city.
