Big quantum project launched in Hefei

The Quantum Industry Conference 2023 opened in Hefei, the capital city of East China's Anhui province on Sept 24, gathering academicians, experts, scholars and representatives from key enterprises in the field of quantum technology.

The event explored collaborative innovation and win-win cooperation in the quantum industry, and promoted the construction of a quantum technology industry ecosystem.

During the opening ceremony, China Telecom and multiple enterprises in the field of quantum technology launched the "Quantum Information Industry Future Action" initiative.

Through this initiative, China Telecom will engage in deep cooperation with multiple quantum enterprises in the research and development of quantum communication technology, scenario applications and engineering.

During the conference, the Management Committee of the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone, also known as the China Speech Valley and Quantum Center, and China Telecom Quantum Information Technology Group signed a cooperation agreement that will see the High-tech Zone provide support for the development of the quantum group.

The company will invest over 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) in establishing a quantum technology industrialization project in the high-tech zone.

Multiple upstream and downstream enterprises in the quantum technology industry have also completed cooperation agreements.

Hefei is currently making efforts to create an industrial cluster for quantum technology and attract more companies from the industrial chain to set up operations in the city.
