Wheat pancakes are also necessary for Wuxi natives' dining table in autumn. There are many different wheat pancakes in the city with the oiled wheat pancakes in Hongshan and Houqiao subdistricts being the most famous. Just split the wheat pancake into two and a faint aroma of rapseed oil and lard will waft up.

It is almost about time to eat hairy crabs. There is a saying in the Jiangnan region that when autumn wind rises, crab feet are fat. Without complicated cooking, steamed hairy crabs are delicious enough.

Wuxi natives also like to make steamed small meat dumplings, shaomai dumplings, and noodles with crab meat, which are also popular seasonal foods in the city.
