A group of German managers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), who are members of a Sino-German exchange program, visited the Wuxi National Hi-tech District, also known as Wuxi New District, on Sept 18.

The visit aimed to foster closer economic ties and explore potential collaboration opportunities between German and WND businesses.

Cui Rongguo, a Party official from the WND, highlighted the district's robust comprehensive strength, strong industrial foundation, and high level of openness. He noted that the partnerships between 43 German companies, including industry giants like Bosch, Siemens, and Osram, and the WND have set a model for cross-border economic and trade relations and have helped deepen cooperation between the district and German and European businesses.

Yin Xiaomeng, who is responsible for training at the SME development and promotion center of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said the Chinese and German governments have been cooperating on training entrepreneurs. Since 2008, over 870 Chinese SME managers have undergone training in Germany, while more than 160 German SME executives have visited China for exchanges.

From Sept 18 to 19, the German managers visited several enterprises in the WND, including Schneider Electric (Wuxi) Inverter Co Ltd and Infineon Technologies (Wuxi) Co Ltd. They also engaged in discussions and explored potential business partnerships with local SMEs in sectors such as photovoltaics, auto parts, biomedicine, and new materials.
