Euro-Asia Economic Forum kicks off in Xi'an

The 2023 Euro-Asia Economic Forum opened in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Sept 22 and will last until Sept 24.

Established in 2005, the forum is held every two year and has been held nine times so far.

The previous forums have facilitated over 30 cooperation achievements and more than 90 projects, such as the joint application of Silk Roads: The Routes Network of Chang' an-Tianshan Corridor as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the establishment of theEuro-Asia Economic Comprehensive Park, and the Eurasian continental bridge transportation integration.

A series of guiding documents have also been released to promote regional exchanges and cooperation.

This year's forum is themed on creating cooperation opportunities and planning for future development.

The forum consists of an opening ceremony, a general assembly, and 13 parallel events, such as the Euro-Asia Economic Comprehensive Park Development Forum, Euro-Asia Economic Forum Thank-tank Session, Traditional Chinese Medicine Exchange and Cooperation Session, and more.

Also, the Economic and Trade Cooperation Expo and the China (Shaanxi) Import and Export Commodities Exhibition are ongoing.

This year's forum is a high-level and open international conference being held on the 10th anniversary of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Through extensive dialogue, it will expand pragmatic cooperation in various fields, promote the formation of a deep and mutually beneficial cooperation model, and facilitate the deep integration of Shaanxi and Xi'an into the broader framework of the BRI, thereby promoting the high-quality development through high-level opening-up.
