Germany's Schroder visits university to promote exchanges

Former German chancellor Gerhard Schroder visited Wuchang University of Technology on Thursday in Wuhan, Hubei province, to promote education cooperation between China and Germany.

The university was founded in 1997 and is one of the first private universities in China. Schroder has been hired as a visiting professor.

He said his visit was aimed at promoting exchanges between the two countries in high-quality development, as well as reform of higher education and bilateral education cooperation.

He said he felt the passion, diligence and hardworking spirit of Chinese students and is confident in the success of future people-to-people exchanges.
