2023 Nantong New-generation Information Technology Expo opens

The 2023 Nantong New-generation Information Technology Expo was initiated in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 31.

The two-day expo was attended by more than 1,000 participants, including representatives from renowned enterprises, institutes, and industry associations to share the achievements of new-generation IT and discuss its development.

Zhang Tong, mayor of Nantong, updated the participants on the city's strategic opportunities, geographical advantages, and innovation ecosystem.

She noted that Nantong will strive to bring in high-quality projects involved in integrated circuits, new-generation information communication, and electronic parts and components to become a hub of the new-generation IT industry.

The city will offer the most favorable policies and business environment and the best service to local businesses, the mayor added.

Zhang Feng, director-general of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, said that Nantong has formed relatively competitive industrial clusters in electronic information, software, and internet, making it one of the hubs of the new-generation IT industry in Jiangsu.

More than 130 businesses from home and abroad showcased their latest products and technologies at the expo's 5,000-square meter exhibition zone.

During the event, the Roadmap to Technological Development of China's Optoelectronic Device Industry (2023-27) was released and Nantong secured 12 new-generation IT projects with a combined investment of 10.8 billion yuan ($1.49 billion).
