Taizhou half marathon to start on Oct 15

The 2023 Taizhou Half Marathon is set to commence on Oct 15, as announced during a press conference held by the Taizhou municipal government on Aug 10.

Registration for the marathon began at 10 am on Aug 11 and will continue until Sept 10.

The event comprises two categories: the half marathon and the fun run, with a limit of 15,000 participants. Among these, 10,000 individuals will take part in the half marathon, and 5,000 will join the fun run.

The half marathon route covers nearly 21.1 kilometers, weaving through Taizhou's main urban area. The course links significant landmarks and cultural sites, such as Tiande Lake Park, Financial Square, People's Square, Old Street, Meiyuan Garden, the Fengcheng River, and Guangxiao Temple. This affords participants the chance to admire Taizhou's unique beauty and vibrant modern development.

The fun run spans about 5 km and starts at the north gate of Taizhou Sports Park. It passes through Haijun East Road, Gulou South Road, Zhoushanhe Road, and Hailing South Road, concluding back at the park's north gate.

Participation in the half marathon will be determined by a lottery, while registration for the fun run is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The lottery results will be announced on Sept 20, and participants can register and access information via the Taizhou Marathon's official WeChat account, event website, and registration app.
