Since the resumption of international flights on March 26, 2023, the number of passengers entering and exiting Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai had exceeded one million as of Aug 9.

According to the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station, the average daily volume is 7,600 passengers. The volume can hit 10,000 during peak periods.

Due to its comprehensive transportation network and efficient customs environment, Hongqiao airport is the preferred choice for many residents in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai when they need to travel internationally. The daily flow of passengers, primarily for work, study, business, visiting relatives and friends, or leisure tourism, has been growing steadily.

To better cope with the increasing flow of passengers, the Hongqiao Border Inspection Station has enhanced clearance speed and optimized clearance services.

During peak periods, all manual inspection lanes and fast track lanes are opened and more staff are deployed to improve efficiency.
