Hefei city holds special summit on innovation

The 2023 China (Hefei) Scenario Innovation Summit and Unicorn Enterprises Development Forum was held in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – on Aug 4.

The term "scenario innovation" refers to the process of using new technologies creatively – guided by the application of these technologies in specific scenarios or contexts.

This approach aims to drive technological iteration and industrial growth, by aligning supply and demand in innovative ways.

The event was attended by over 300 people including government officials, representatives from unicorn enterprises and journalists.  

During the summit, the 2023 China Scenario Innovation Research Report was released, providing insights into China's scenario innovation landscape. Hefei was recognized as one of the leading cities in national scenario innovation.

The summit also featured the launch of Hefei's first application scenario innovation competition, where high-value application scenarios with technological innovation and industry leadership will be selected and supported.

What's more, Hefei announced an investment of about 3 billion yuan ($416.24 million) for scenario development and inaugurated Hefei Scenario Company – the first of this kind in China – further showcasing the city's commitment to promoting scene innovation.

In addition, the event also provided a platform for unicorn enterprises from all over the country to explore cooperation opportunities.
