"The one-stop services throughout the Wuhan metropolitan area are really convenient. I don't have to travel back and forth to open a store in a different location", said a resident surnamed Ma after obtaining a drug business license issued by the Ezhou market supervision bureau at the government service center of the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), located in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.

Since Aug 1, OVC has been leading the implementation of "one-stop services" for food and drug business licenses in the Wuhan metropolitan area.

"For catering businesses and drugstore chains planning to open stores in cities in the metropolitan area, we provide business consultations and one-on-one services, overcoming geographical restrictions so that applicants need not travel back and forth," said a staff member in charge of the valley's government services and big data management.

As a pilot area for the "one-stop service" micro reform, the valley quickly established cooperation mechanisms with multiple districts and counties in the metropolitan area, realizing real-time information exchange between departments, and forming a complete government service system for catering businesses and drugstore chains to open stores in different locations.
