Quzhou sees booming summer tourism market

According to the Quzhou culture, radio, television and tourism bureau, from July 1 to 25 Quzhou in Zhejiang province received 3.48 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent.

"Since July, there have been an average of about 240 take-offs and landings per week, and the number of passengers entering and leaving the airport has increased by about 21 percent compared to June," said Cao Wei, manager of the market department of the Quzhou Airport.

There has also been an increase in the number of individual travelers and tour groups coming to Quzhou.

"Since July, we have received nearly 40 groups and more than 1,000 tourists. They are mainly from cities within the province, such as Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Huzhou, and Ningbo," said Zhou Fawei, general manager of Quzhou Fashion Tourism Co Ltd.

Since July, the Temple of Southern Confucianism and the Confucianism Museum of China have received more than 40 batches of research teams and nearly 1,400 people. Among them, there are not only students from Hangzhou and Xinjiang but also young scholars from 22 countries and regions around the world including Singapore, Pakistan, Italy, Canada and Brazil.

Recently, the Root Palace Buddhist Cultural Tourism Zone in Kaihua county has been receiving an average of nearly 2,000 tourists per day.

During the holiday season, the zone has launched summer camps and a series of research activities revolving around filial culture and Hanfu culture. Nearly 30 such research activities have been held.
