The cargo and mail throughput of the Sunan Shuofang Airport in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, grew 10 percent from last year in the first six months of this year to 59,000 metric tons.

The airport's international cargo and mail throughput jumped 26.5 percent year-on-year during the same period to 8,896 tons.

Due to the intelligent logistics facilities and support from Wuxi Customs, the airport delivered 226,000 orders for cross-border e-commerce businesses in the Jan-June period.

The Shuofang airport's quick customs clearance model – "advance declaration" plus "picking up goods at airport apron" – makes it a preferred choice for businesses in Wuxi and surrounding areas.

The airport can currently deliver cargo to 54 Chinese cities and has received port qualification for international airmail, cross-border e-commerce cargo, pharmaceuticals, edible aquatic animals, and fresh food.
