Passengers at the Chengdudong Railway Station in Chengdu, Sichuan province, are impressed with many elements of the 31st Summer World University Games to be held in the city from July 28 to Aug 8.
They can pose for pictures in front of Rongbao, the Games' mascot, and visit the licensed retail store located on the north side of the station's waiting room.
Rongbao is a giant panda with a torch in its hand. The flame emitting from the torch is in the shape of 31, denoting the 31st Summer World University Games.
The station through which participants of the Games would arrive and leave Chengdu has turned itself into a Games-themed station with elements such as Rongbao, the Games' countdown sign and a licensed retail store.
A special passage for the Games will be opened on the east side of the station's north entrance to facilitate the rapid entry of arriving and departing participants, according to Xu Luchuan, an official with the Chengdu Railway Station which administers the Chengdudong Railway Station.
A special waiting area for the Games' participants, with an arrival and departure service desk, will provide refreshments, power banks and drinking water to ensure better service for their arrival and departure, he said.
