The Guangzhou municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau has organized 19 enterprises and institutions to host job fairs in the Macao Special Administrative Region to attract local talents in the first half of the year.
Li Minghua, deputy director of the bureau, said companies and institutions have offered more than 2,000 high-quality positions to lure local residents during the fairs, promoting integrated development among cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
"Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, has taken the lead in the province to have established a career mentor bank in the Area, recruiting the first batch of 36 career mentors from Hong Kong and Macao," Li said at a news conference on Wednesday.
The city has also built a total of 52 innovation and entrepreneurship bases for youth from Hong Kong and Macao, with a total of 7,417 incubated projects having been set up.
The bases have so far employed more than 77,700 people, including 2,704 Hong Kong and Macao residents.
Guangzhou has also continuously promoted the construction of the city's social security project in the Greater Bay Area, Li said. The city has established the first batch of seven social security service centers in Hong Kong, allowing Hong Kong residents to directly purchase their Guangzhou social security, health care and related insurance services from the Chinese SAR.
More than 40,300 visits have been made from Hong Kong and Macao to participate in pension, unemployment and work-related insurance in Guangzhou.
