Located in Sanya, South China's Hainan province, Sanya Aviation & Tourism College was founded in 2005 and covers an area of nearly 600 mu (40 hectares). The school now has 8,000 students, including 1,000 from overseas.
The school is now recruiting students from 29 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions,and municipalities directly under the central government.
The school has six second-level colleges including the School of Cabin Attendants, School of Civil Aviation Transportation, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Maritime Engineering, School of International Tourism,as well as theSchool of Humanities and Social Sciences.
There are currently 33 majors available for students in the school including two national demonstration majors of civil aviation transport and air crew.
The school has built four major training centers, including a comprehensive training center, a flight simulation training center, a flight crew simulation training center, and a maritime training center.
To meet the requirements for the actual job skills training for airline maintenance personnel and flight attendants, the school introduced seven practical training aircrafts.
To meet the basic skills examination requirements of CCAR Part 147, a rule issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to regulate the management and supervision of civil aircraft maintenance personnel training organizations, as well as to cultivate qualified aircraft personnel, the school also introduced equipment and facilities of the HNA Lufthansa Technology Training.
