A series of celebration activities marking the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China was held in Hong Kong on June 30.

Among these activities was an exhibition showcasing more than 200 intangible cultural heritage (ICH) products from Yantai, including Yantai paper-cutting, Haiyang yangko (a popular rural folk dance), and Jiaodong cloth tigers.

Yantai has a long history and boasts a wide range of national and provincial ICH items such as Yantai dough modeling, paper-cutting and woolen embroidery. Many Hong Kong citizens tried their hands at making woodprint pictures and learned about traditional Chinese culture.

"It's a great opportunity for me to learn more about the city's rich traditional culture. The paper-cutting artworks and porcelain carving impressed me a lot and allowed me to better understand the profound culture of Yantai," said a local resident.
