Xi'an Silk Road Software City sees investment promotion bear fruit

In the first half of this year, the Silk Road Software City of Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone achieved significant results in investment promotion, with domestic investment amounting to 6 billion yuan ($830.67 million) and actual utilization of foreign capital reaching $18 million.

The software city introduced three projects in the optoelectronic information industry, five projects in strategic emerging industries, and seven projects in research and development, design, software, and information services, in the first six months of 2023.

It also focused on introducing a group of projects with high investment intensity, high output value, high technological performance, and high industrial relevance, and promoted the increase in production capacity of more than 10 fast-growing companies that have settled there, while also helping more than 20 commercial projects such as office buildings and hotels establish themselves in the software city.

Meanwhile, over 40 key & core technology enterprises were encouraged to develop high-end R&D projects to strengthen the competitiveness of the local industrial chain.

To ensure the steady progress of construction, the software city holds a weekly construction project theme meeting to check on the progress of ongoing projects and planned investment promotion projects.

The software city has also completed the upgrading and transformation of Yunsui First Road, and roads such as Yunsan Third Road and Tianguwu Fifth Road have been opened, providing important transportation guarantees for investment promotion and industrial development.

Moving forwards, the software city will make efforts to cultivate key enterprises, attract more software talents, lay out industrial development drivers, and enhance innovative research.

The goal is to build itself into a hub for software industry development in West China on the largest-scale, with the highest-level R&D, the best industrial ecosystem, and the strongest talent development environment.
