China's Wetlands of International Importance

The Nansi Lake Nature Reserve was established in 1982 and is located in Shandong province, specifically in Weishan county, Rencheng district, and Yutai county within Jining city. It encompasses a diverse natural complex consisting of lake wetlands, islands, adjacent paddy fields, and surrounding mountain forests, forming a rich and interconnected ecosystem.
Covering a total area of 127,547 hectares, the main objective of the reserve is to protect bird species and their habitats, which are vital for their survival.
