Qingdao FTZ Future City Research Institute establishes 2 labs

The Qingdao-based Future City Research Institute, in partnership with dozens of enterprises and universities, recently set up the Data Element Marketization Lab and the CIMOS Application Development Lab in the CIMOS Park (City Brain Science and Technology Park).

The institute is located in the Sino-German Ecopark in the Qingdao area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Qingdao FTZ. It was established by Qingdao-based City Brain Company and is the first artificial intelligence research institute in Qingdao that is initiated by a State-owned company.

The two laboratories will leverage the advantages of the city's data resources and application scenarios, promote the compliant and efficient circulation and use of data and create integrated service products.

The Data Element Marketization Lab was established to promote the open sharing of data in the park and accelerate the capitalization of data assets.

To build a market-oriented system of data elements, the lab plans to integrate industry resources, increase the value of mining and application of data elements, create new data element product systems and promotion models, and empower the park's economic entities with data resources.

The CIMOS Application Development Lab was established to connect the processes of planning, construction, management, operation and use for smart park buildings, integrate products and attract more resources. As an open and shared technical support platform, the CIMOS urban intelligent management operating system can expand the number of integrated solutions for digital intelligent park building.

The lab plans to integrate and gather smart park application systems and data resources of different business scenarios to empower the park's industrial economy.

The Future City Research Institute also plans to explore developing new products and services, build a smart park industrial ecology, and promote the sustainable development of the park's industrial economy with new-generation information technology.
