Baotu Spring extends opening hours to boost nighttime economy

The operating hours of Baotu Spring Park from June 2 to Oct 31 have been extended until 9 pm to boost the nighttime economy, according to the service center of the World's Best Spring Scenic Area.

The park offers visitors a variety of activities to enjoy in the evening, such as admiring the illuminated Guanlan Pavilion by the gushing Baotu Spring, having a sip of spring water tea in a tea house, and enjoying colorful ice cream shaped like the pavilions that dot Baotu Spring.

Zhang Mei, a local resident of Jinan, said that thanks to the extended operating hours, she had enough time to appreciate the charm of Baotu Spring in the cool evening hours.

A student surnamed Zheng had a "military-style" trip - the latest fashion among Chinese college students, who spend as little much money as possible to travel to as many places as they can during the weekend - to Jinan, where she enjoyed the "very creative" and "cool and refreshing" Baotu Spring, not to mention the culturally themed ice cream.

Song Haipeng, director of the marketing department at Jinan Culture and Tourism Development Group, noted the scenic area will develop more nocturnal tour programs and services for visitors.
