The opening ceremony of the 5th China Morning Tea Culture Festival was held in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 25.

The event will run until May 31.

A series of activities such as a demonstration of dim-sum-making techniques, the release of measures to boost consumption, and art performances was held at the ceremony.

A fair featuring booths exhibiting and selling local delicacies from nearly 30 food enterprises across the nation is also being held at Quyuan Garden from May 25 to 27, while a dim-sum-tasting event is being hosted at the city's four time-honored tea houses – Quyuan Garden, Yechun Tea House, Fuchun Tea House, and Huaiyang Cuisine Museum of China – from May 25 to 31.

The festival has been playing a significant role in bolstering Yangzhou's morning tea industry and promoting local delicacies around the world, said local authorities.
