Harbin Industrial Investment Group and Beijing World Artery Tunnel Technology Co signed a strategic cooperation agreement on May 8 to build a low-vacuum ultra-high-speed maglev bus travel line in Harbin, the capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.

According to the plan, the two sides will conduct all-round cooperation in terms of resources, capital, technology, talent and equity.

Beijing World Artery Tunnel Technology Co is committed to researching and developing 1,000 kilometers per hour suspended vacuum pipeline transportation technology.

This integrates high-tech technologies such as floating tunnel, vacuum, magnetic levitation, and magnetic drive technology.

It can increase the speed of ground traffic to more than 1,000 km per hour, and reduce energy consumption by more than 70 percent due to the reduction of air resistance, making travel faster and more efficient.

The floating tunnel across the strait built with this technology can withstand all kinds of inclement weather and facilitate travel around the clock. Meanwhile, the impact of earthquakes and other threats is relatively small.

The vacuum train manufactured using this technology will become the fifth major means of transportation in modern industrial history after trains, cars, ships and airplanes.
