Liuheng Island secures 7 projects in Q1

Liuheng Island authorities in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province signed agreements for launching seven projects in the first quarter of this year, local media reported on May 9.

The projects are related to fields such as advanced manufacturing, clean power, new materials, and non-ferrous metals.

Among them are six advanced manufacturing projects with a combined investment of 2.5 billion yuan ($360.88 million).

This is largely due to efforts by authorities to attract more investment, including dispatching a delegation to provinces like Guangdong, Sichuan and Hunan to engage with enterprises focused on marine engineering equipment manufacturing, high-end paper production, and clean power equipment manufacturing.

Authorities said they will engage with representatives of 50 global chemical enterprises, which will be key to bolstering the island's new materials industry.

Authorities will also provide better services and streamline approval procedures so the construction of the projects can start as soon as possible.
