Zhao Jianjun, mayor of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, led a delegation to visit South Korea from May 7 to 8, local media outlets reported.

On May 8, Wuxi hosted a scientific innovation and cooperation exchange meeting in Seoul, during which Mayor Zhao expressed his hopes that South Korea and Wuxi will cooperate together to promote industrial innovation and advance people-to-people exchanges in culture, tourism, education, and healthcare.

Cooperation agreements on 24 projects with a combined investment of nearly $1.97 billion were inked between Wuxi and South Korea at the meeting.

Wuxi New District and Sungkyunkwan University signed an agreement to build the China-South Korea (Wuxi) Scientific Innovation Center. The district also signed a cooperation agreement with SL Capital to build a fund dedicated to the fields of semiconductors and new energy.

The Wuxi Industrial Innovation Research Institute inked a strategic cooperation agreement with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute.

The Wuxi (Seoul) Business Innovation and Exchange Center was also inaugurated during the meeting. It is expected to serve business negotiations, offshore innovation, and talent exchanges.

During the two-day stay, the Wuxi delegation also visited local companies, including LS Group, LG Chem, and SK Group, to enhance friendly relations and secure more projects.
