Quzhou Port completed a total port throughput of 1.55 million metric tons in the first three months, an increase of 71.9 percent over the same period last year, the highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.

In recent years, Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has strengthened its infrastructure construction, optimized the services of water transport enterprises, and facilitated the development of port-centered industry.

Longyou Port Area has started cooperating with Shanghai Hanyu International Logistics Co for pulp customers based on its cargo analysis and customer visits.

In the first quarter, 10,000 tons of pulp was handled. Meanwhile, the port connected with Changshu Weitelong and the Changshu Economic and Development Zone to establish pulp warehouses to improve pulp throughput.

In addition, the city has accelerated the shift from road transportation to water transportation for bulk goods.

Goods transported via Quzhou Port have diversified from coal and sand to over 30 categories, including industrial salt, pulp, grain and steel plates.

A total of 635,000 tons of goods were transferred from road to water transportation in the first three months, cutting carbon emissions by 6,052.5 tons.
