Yangkou Port – located in Rudong county in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently expanded its capacity when it opened three new berths for vessels.

That's expected to help with its continuing expansion and importance as an economic driver in the region.

As a result, on Feb 14 the liquefied chemicals wharf at Yangkou Port was working at a frenetic pace, with the newly built three berths each welcomed a liquefied chemical ship, offloading a total of about 25,000 metric tons of liquefied chemicals.

Since 2014, when the State Council officially agreed to the opening of Yangkou Port, Rudong has been unswervingly promoting port development and construction.

To date, Yangkou Port has built six terminals, including LNG terminals, liquefied chemical terminals, general purpose terminals and petrochemical terminals and opened seven berths.

It has established shipping relations with 25 countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative – including Qatar, Australia and Russia.

As the largest natural gas emergency peak regulation station in the Yangtze River Delta region, the Petro China Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port exported more than 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2022, supporting more than one third of Jiangsu's natural gas supplies.
