Pudong sees rapid development in legal service industry

The first Legal Service Industry Brand Development Forum and the 2022 annual brand ceremony of LEGAL VISION were held on Feb 18 at the China Financial Information Center in Pudong New Area in Shanghai.

Besides providing a platform for in-depth discussion between brand professionals and law firm managers, the activity was beneficial for law firms' next round of strategic development and layout, and also promoted the building of brand methods and standards consistent with the characteristics of the legal service industry.

With the development and opening-up of Pudong New Area, the legal service industry has also developed rapidly and is playing a preeminent role.

According to information from the forum, Pudong is now one of the key locations where the legal services sector congregates in Shanghai and even throughout China. The proportion of lawyers and law firms in Shanghai has increased to one-fourth and one-sixth, respectively, which has aided in the coordinated growth of Pudong's economy and industries.

The "1+1+N" talent policy system released by Pudong New Area this year has launched a number of support measures that are designed for legal service talents, and are committed to accelerating the development of high-level modern legal services.

Serving as the venue for the forum, HARBOUR CITY (HBC) is home to nearly 300 domestic law firms and more than 40 foreign law firms, including six of the world's top 10 law firms, five of China's top 10 law firms, and more than half of Shanghai's law firms with a revenue of more than 1 billion yuan ($145 million), which showcases its large industrial scale, high internationalization rate, and wide brand influence.
