Wuxi New District officials to invite investment in Europe

An investment attraction group consisting of officials from Wuxi New District in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province departed for Europe on Jan 30.

Gu Guodong, leader of the group and standing committee member of WND, noted that they are focusing on inviting technological investment and promoting technological cooperation between China and Europe.

Over the following 10 days, the group members are expected to visit 10 cities in three countries, including Barcelona, Brussels, and Dusseldorf, to explore cooperation opportunities with more than 20 high-tech enterprises, research institutes, as well as innovation platforms. The group will also hold investment promotion events.

This touring group will also promote the operation of three innovation centers in Europe – Wuxi National Software Park (Belgium) Innovation Center, Wuxi National Software Park (Germany) Innovation Center, and Wuxi International Life Science Innovation Campus · TUS Belgium Joint Innovation Center.

WND announced plans to build more than 10 offshore innovation centers around the world in three years at the beginning of this year and therefore, the group members will also select a location for the Wuxi (Germany) Innovation Center.

On the first day after they arrive in Europe, the group members will visit the digital alliance in Catalonia and the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona.
