In recent years, the mangrove forest in Shuidong Bay, Dianbai district, Maoming improved its environment and now provides a tranquil habitat for egrets.

Over the past decade, Dianbai restored more than 600 hectares of mangroves, attracting over 30 species of birds to settle into the area. Shuidong Bay has been selected as one of the top 10 birding resorts in Guangdong province.
