Guangzhou has announced that the 2023 Spring Festival flower market will have multiple venues as well as multiple start and end dates for people's convenience.

Baiyun district will hold its Spring Festival flower market from Jan 19 to 21 this year at the Wanda Plaza on Yuncheng East Road.

At present, the design plan for the archway of the traditional Spring Festival flower market in Baiyun is being publicly solicited. It should reflect traditional Lingnan culture while showing characteristics of Baiyun by focusing on Lingnan's traditional Spring Festival folk customs and Guangzhou culture.

The Zengcheng district flower market will be held in Zengcheng Square from Jan 16 to 21. There will be 162 rental booths in the market, including 118 flower booths, 28 food booths, six new year stalls, six couplet booths, as well as four tangerine booths.

From Jan 18 to 20, Liwan district will hold the "Water Flower Market" in the Yongqingfang Tourism Area, carrying out a series of cultural activities such as flower boat parades, theatrical performances, and intangible cultural heritage experiences.

The Guangzhou flower market has a long history and is integrated with many folk customs, it originated from civil flower planting, and the Spring Festival flower market was established in the middle and late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

In May 2007, the Guangzhou Spring Festival flower market became a cultural heritage event in Guangdong province.
