OVC shines in municipal digital economy scenarios

Wuhan's first group of 10 digital economy application scenario projects recently received municipal funds worth 1 million yuan ($143,400). Half of the projects are based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

"It is our honor to be included among the city's first group of digital economy application scenario projects," said Hu Shan, general manager of Wuhan ENDOANGEL Medical Technology Co, which is located in OVC.

One year ago, the digital economy application scenario action plan for Wuhan was issued, stipulating that selected projects will receive 2 million yuan in subsidies (including 1 million from the municipal government, and 1 million from the district government).

The move aims to encourage enterprises to use new technologies, products and digital economy models to tackle bottlenecks in Wuhan's socioeconomic development and build the city into a first-tier digital economy city.
