The robotic business promotion meeting for the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) took place in Shenzhen on Dec 14, and was attended by more than 40 entrepreneurs from leading enterprises in the robotic industrial chain, including those from Estun Automation Co, Siasun Robot & Automation Co, and Han's Laser Technology Industry Group Co.
The meeting was held by the administrative committee of the valley and aimed to invite talent and entrepreneurs in the robotic industry to contribute to OVC's smart manufacturing sector.
Guests at the meeting expressed their belief that robots – the iconic tool in the digital era – are transforming the way people manufacture and live, and that the robotic industry has huge development potential. The industry is embracing a period of strategic development due to the accelerated integration of emerging businesses such as new materials, biology, 5G, and artificial intelligence.
The OVC robotic industrial development report was also discussed during the meeting. The valley is currently home to more than 10 robotics enterprises.
In August this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and another three central departments jointly released typical robot application scenario lists in agriculture, architecture, healthcare and mining respectively, which included three Wuhan-based companies, of which two were based in OVC.
