The foreign trade of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province grew 11 percent year-on-year to 613.43 billion yuan ($85.65 billion) in the first 10 months of the year, accounting for 13.4 percent of Jiangsu's total.

The city's exports jumped 18.6 percent year-on-year to 402.41 billion yuan in the same period.

The foreign trade of foreign-invested enterprises in Wuxi accounted for half of the city's total, while private enterprises saw a year-on-year increase of 26.7 percent in foreign trade during the period.

"To expand into the Japanese and Southeast Asian markets, our company has applied for Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership certificates of origin," said Zhou Genliang, who is in charge of the export department of Wuxi-based Sanmu Group. "It has boosted the company's performance."

Zhou noted that due to the RCEP and favorable international conditions, Sanmu has continued expanding overseas this year.

In the first three quarters of this year, the city's imports and exports totaled 554.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.8 percent. The growth rate was 3 percentage points higher than the provincial average.

A staff member from the Wuxi municipal bureau of commerce said that high-value-added and high-tech products made in Wuxi will continue to be popular in international markets and that the city will take full advantage of direct shipping routes and logistics platforms to expand its foreign trade.
