Pop Mart, an art toy maker in China, has participated in the annual DesignerCon, held between Nov 18 to 20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, to boost its international presence.
In its 108-square-meter exhibition area, Pop Mart said it has provided a visual feast of art and culture for audiences, featuring giant electronic screens, art toy sculptures, acrylic lamps and rainbow films. This year is the second year for Pop Mart to participate.
Since 2018, Pop Mart has expanded its global presence to 25 countries and regions, operating over 350 stores and more than 1,800 Robo shops. In June this year, Pop Mart opened its first pop-up shop in LA South Coast Plaza in the US.
Pop Mart displayed a variety of limited toy figures, including Lovely Molly, Zimomo Matter and Red Lobster.
Apart from limited art toys and the MEGA series, the company also presented more than 70 types of blind boxes, featuring properties such as Skullpanda City of Night, A Boring Day with Molly, Hirono Little Mischief, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and World of Warcraft.
Alan Mai, director of Pop Mart West Region, said: "As a global art culture and entertainment brand, Pop Mart attaches great importance to the development of the American market. We hope the brand concept of our company can reach out to more consumers in the United States through this exhibition."
He added the United States is the largest consumer market of global art toys, which also impacts the markets of other countries and regions, contributing to Pop Mart's pursuit of going global.
Pop Mart also worked closely with Disney, WarnerBros and other world-famous IP holders to launch a series of well-known products such as Harry Potter and Marvel Classic. It also cooperated with US artists Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Karing to launch the MEGA co-branded series.
