The largest single building project of a solar power plant in China was capped in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 16.

The building, which received a 39-billion-yuan ($5.85 billion) investment from Ordos LONGi Photovoltaic Technology Co, mainly produces high-efficiency monocrystalline cells, monocrystalline silicon rods and slices, and high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, and will achieve an annual output of 81 gigawatts.

The building started construction in June this year. Its equipment installation will begin at the end of October and trial production will start in April next year.

When in full production, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 70 billion yuan and provide 17,000 jobs.

It will become the solar factory with the largest scale, most complete industrial chain and the latest craft practices in the country.
