Nandan develops holistic tourism

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Nandan county has made great efforts to develop holistic tourism relying on its rich tourism resources, with the county's tourism industry making great progress.

At present, the county has three national 4A tourist attractions, and is creating two national 5A scenic spots and four national 4A scenic spots. In 2021, the county received 3.66 million tourists, generating 4.5 billion yuan ($620 million) in tourism consumption. Tourism has become an important pillar industry for the transformation and development of the county.

In terms of tourism transportation, the county has several transportation facilities like the Guizhou-Guangxi Railway, Lanzhou Haikou Expressway, and Hechi Jinchengjiang Airport. The county also promoted the construction of the Pingguo-Tian'e Expressway, Nandan-Tian'e Expressway, and other projects. There will be seven towns with expressway access throughout the county. All major scenic spots will be accessible by roads above class II, while tourism transportation systems, such as tourist buses, special lines for tourism, and shared bicycles, will be gradually improved.

The county implemented the "tourism+" strategy, as well as promoted the in-depth integration of tourism with industry, agriculture, culture, and healthcare. It has built three rural tourism areas above the four-star level, two national industrial tourism demonstration sites, one national leisure agricultural tourism demonstration site, one national tourism poverty alleviation demonstration site, as well as one Guangxi staff health care base.

At the same time, the county improved the construction of a tourism element system and transformed the tourism industry of Nandan to appeal to global tourism. It has built a four-star tourism hotel, as well as developed tourism products like Danquan liquor, selenium-rich rice, Liulong tea, and Baiku Yao embroidery.
