Guaiyaomei ICH workshop becomes provincial demonstration site

The unveiling ceremony of the provincial demonstration site for "Guai Yao Mei" intangible cultural heritage workshop was launched in Zhangjiajie Tourism Commodity Industrial Park on November 5.

The intangible cultural heritage workshop is an important measure to strengthen the protection of intangible cultural heritage, consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, promote employment and increase income, serve economic and social development, and better meet the people's growing needs for a better life.

In recent years, thanks to Tujia brocade, a national intangible cultural heritage item, the "Guai Yao Mei" brand has been successfully built, which has driven locals, especially the mothers, to find jobs and increase income, and realized the unity of social and economic benefits.

In 2019, "Guai Yao Mei" was selected as one of the first batch of intangible cultural heritage workshops in Hunan Province.

This year, it was awarded the provincial demonstration site for intangible cultural heritage workshop and is one of key observation projects of the first Hunan Tourism Development Conference.
