Xiehe Township to build science popularization town

To welcome the first Hunan Tourism Development Conference, Xiehe Township in Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie has managed to gain the support of the "2022 Grassroots Science Popularization Action Plan" science popularization project initiated by Hunan Provincial Science Association.

Led by the project, Xiehe Township has explored a development mode of "science popularization, tourism and industry". A new science popularization development pattern was achieved through interactive and experiential science popularization communication mode. And a science popularization town with regional and national  characteristics has been created.

The science popularization town is divided into the south area and the north area. It aims to build an agricultural machinery cooperative, a demonstration base for kudzu root, a science popularization cultural square, a youth science popularization and experience base, a science popularization base for tea planting, a professional technological volunteer service team, and carry out various science popularization activities.

Focusing on science popularization and tourism, Longweiba Neighborhood Committee in Xiehe Township will build a science popularization demonstration base for tourism industry.  

Huangjiaping and Xiehe villages seek to develop tea and kudzu root industries, and build a modern agricultural science popularization demonstration base to drive the employment of surrounding farmers and industrial demonstration and promotion.

Now, the Science Popularization Cultural Square in Longweiba, the youth science popularization and experience base in Faraway Catalpa Eco Resort, and the science popularization base for tea planting in Wulingyuan have been completed and included in the observation route of the first Hunan Tourism Development Conference.

The south area of the town relies on the Party building square to build science popularization cultural squares in six villages, set up science popularization cultural bulletin boards or corridors, science popularization equipment, scientific fitness facilities, carry out science popularization activities with local characteristics. Now, the construction of foundations is in the final stage.
