Jiangyin, a county-level city in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, has been transitioning from an industrial city to an innovative city of common prosperity over the past decade.

Jiangyin has always prioritized the development of the real economy and manufacturing industry and is currently is building a modern industrial system featuring new energy, integrated circuits, high-end equipment, and biological medicine.

Innovation has always been the focus of Jiangyin's development, and it has rolled out a series of measures to bring in talent to contribute to its innovative development. As of 2021, it is home to 472,300 talent, including 14,900 high-level ones.

Jiangyin has also sought cooperation with universities and institutions. For example, the Yangtze River Delta Technology Innovation Center of Wuhan University started operating in the city in 2021 and has attracted a number of startup projects helmed by tech talent.

The integration of Wuxi and Jiangyin has also been the highlight of Jiangyin's development over the past 10 years. The construction of the Wuxi-Jiangyin rail transit line S1 will be completed in 2024 and is expected to greatly reduce travel time between the two places.

Spanning 30.4 kilometers, the rail transit line starts from Waitan Station in Jiangyin and ends at the Yanqiao Station of subway line 1 in Wuxi.

Rural revitalization is another highlight of Jiangyin's development over the past decade. The city has built a fund of 200 million yuan ($29.2 million) for rural revitalization, and the fund has issued 40.86 million yuan to help relatively poor villages.

In 2021, Jiangyin invested 5 billion yuan in rural areas, and it has ranked first in Jiangsu in per capita disposable income of rural residents for the past 22 years.
