Located in the Yunhe Sanwan Scenic Spot of Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province, the 200-mu China Grand Canal Museum is a modern facility that specializes in the research of cultural relics.

The museum, dubbed "an encyclopedia about China's Grand Canal", also promotes education, runs study tours and fosters exchange with other nations.

The museum is comprised of two structures: a main building designed to look like a giant sail boat, and a 79,000-square-meter Grand Canal Pagoda in the style of a Tang Dynasty (618-907) tower.

Opened to the public on June 16, 2021, the museum is home to 11 permanent exhibitions that showcase the history and culture of the Grand Canal and the benefits it has brought to the people.

As of June 16, 2022, the museum had received 1.19 million visitors.

Visitors are required to present their identity cards, personal health and travel codes, and undergo temperature checks at the entrance.

Visitors must also don masks, maintain social distancing of at least one meter and avoid gathering in large groups once inside the premises.
