The second Cross-Straits Youth Culture Month opened in Suzhou New District in East China's Jiangsu province on Aug 19, local media outlets reported.

From Aug 19 to 20, Suzhou, the host city, will hold the opening ceremony and various cultural exhibitions, salons, and travel experience activities. More than 100 youth from Taiwan who are currently working or doing internships in the Yangtze River Delta region will be invited to the event.

A forum for Taiwan youth will be held during the opening ceremony, and young people from Taiwan will share their reflections on integrated development across the Straits.

This year's event features more than 30 online and offline cross-Strait cultural exchange activities in Suzhou, Nanjing, Taizhou, Xuzhou and Yancheng, involving e-sports, cultural creation, lantern shows, Peking Opera, poetry, and Chinese calligraphy, painting, and seal-cutting.

The event will last from mid-August to late September.

This is the second time SND has hosted the opening of the month-long event. As a hub of Taiwan investments and talent, the district is inviting young people from both sides of the Strait to live and work there.

SND is currently home to 415 Taiwan-funded enterprises with a total investment of $7.2 billion. There are more than 3,000 Taiwan people living in the district, nearly 500 of which are young people.
