Contracts signed for 24 projects worth $2.7b in Lin-gang

The Lin-gang Special Area – located in East China's Shanghai city – held a signing ceremony on Aug 12 for 24 projects that will cost 18 billion yuan ($2.7 billion), local media reported.

They cover such key fields as cutting-edge industries, commercial and cultural tourism and basic education.

Among the projects, 16 are industrial projects involving contracted investment of 12.6 billion yuan. They cover cutting-edge industries such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence and high-end equipment manufacturing.

Eleven projects are for urban construction, including an Ultraman-themed hotel, the Harbor City Plaza library and a Lin-gang primary school and kindergarten affiliated to East China Normal University.

In addition, Lin-gang unveiled three, three-year action plans for accelerating the development of the IC industry chain, speeding up the attraction of more resources for innovation and improving the social service system for talent accumulation.
