Anren Ancient Town Tourist Area is located in Dayi county in the western Chengdu Plain. It has three major attractions including Anren Old Street, Liu's Manor Museum and the Jianchuan Museum Cluster.

Boasting a history of more than 1,380 years, Anren was established during the Wude reign of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Today Anren is an outstanding town among its kind for the value and scale of existing cultural relics and the number of museums, which has given it the title of the only “China Museum Town” and led to its inclusion on the list of “China Historical and Cultural Towns”.

Anren Old Street was completed during the period of the Republic of China (1912-49) and is composed of Shuren, Yumin and Hongxing streets. With a total length of about 760 meters, it is home to 14 well-preserved mansions and more than 210 dwellings, making for a comprehensive culture-tourism block integrating shopping, accommodation, entertainment and catering.

A national foremost protected cultural heritage site, Liu's Manor Museum consists of the five mansions built by Liu Wencai (1887-1949), a local landlord, and his brothers as well as the Liu family’s ancestral house. Covering an area of more than 70,000 square meters, it has more than 540 rooms and is the largest modern landlord manor complex with a combination of Chinese and Western styles in China.

The Jianchuan Museum boasts a collection of more than 10 million pieces, including 3,616 national level cultural relics. It owns more than 30 branches with themes of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45), earthquake relief works and the Communist revolutionary years. At present, it is a privately-owned museum with the largest investment, the largest construction scale and exhibition area as well as the richest collection in China.
