Located on the Hangjiahu Plain of the Yangtze River Delta, Nanxun Ancient Town was once the richest of the six ancient towns in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang area.

It is also one of the most well-preserved ancient towns in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

Established in the 13th century, Nanxun later emerged as one of the first entrepreneurial regions in Zhejiang province, due to convenient transportation by water.

The production of silkworm and silk reels flourished and made Naxun a commodities hub in ancient China.

The town enjoys profound cultural heritage and a history stretching back more than 700 years. Many ancient houses, gardens and other ancient buildings are well preserved, such as Little Lotus Villa and the Jiaye Library.

Bridges that cross over rippling rivers and white walls, help form an appealing and authentic landscape.
