Hechi accelerates construction of livelihood projects

Since the beginning of this year, Hechi has further accelerated the construction of livelihood projects. A series of livelihood policies and measures have been implemented, while 81.5 percent of the city's financial expenditures have been invested in livelihood areas.

It has accelerated the development of education in the central urban area. The Jinchengjiang and Yizhou urban areas plan to build 31 schools, and have received 200 million yuan ($30 million) each from the general bond funds of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The city has improved the medical and old-age insurance systems for urban and rural residents. The insurance participation rate of the local population has reached 100 percent.

In addition, the city has paid attention to social assistance, spending 690 million yuan to benefit 2.43 million people in need. It has held 142 online and offline recruitment activities, released information on 205,600 jobs, as well as provided public welfare jobs for 2,212 people with employment difficulties.

To date, the city's 11 public libraries, 12 cultural centers, 139 township cultural stations, and 1,537 village comprehensive cultural service centers have all opened to the public.

Hechi has also arranged cultural activities with rich content and diverse forms covering both urban and rural areas to promote the development of cultural and literary undertakings. In the first half of this year, the city held 471 online and offline mass cultural activities.
