Zhoucun district issues 1.5 million yuan in shopping coupons

The Zhoucun district of Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province – will run a shopping season from June 7 to July 6, with discount shopping vouchers worth 1.5 million yuan ($225,000) issued to the public.

The event aims to boost the catering, retail, culture and tourism sectors, hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The shopping coupons can be used at various restaurants and food outlets, shopping malls and supermarkets, for car sales, at gas stations, as well as at cultural venues and tourist attractions.

Residents can get them free at the UnionPay app and the shopping vouchers must be used before July 6.
