The international influence of Biosafety and Health is rapidly increasing. The open access policy and publication quality of the journal meet the standards of international evaluation institutions. It has been collected by domestic and foreign databases, such as the DOAJ (Dictionary of Open Access Journals), the RCCSE (Research Center for Chinese Science Evaluation), the CSCD (Chinese Science Citation Database) and Scopus. Meanwhile, 74 papers on biosafety published in the journal have been included by PubMed Central (PMC).

CiteScore is a new journal evaluation system launched by Elsevier in December 2016. This metric evaluates the influence of peer-reviewed journals, book series, conference papers and industry journals included in the Scopus database in a range of four years. The citation count is accumulated from the year of publication to the end of the calculation date. It means that all citations are included in the CiteScore for a more comprehensive assessment.
